1. Competitive. We make situations unnecessarily difficult and stressful by seeking the absolute best outcome. We should stop struggling as soon as we achieve the minimum standard.
2. Curious. We seek to understand everything. We fail to accept and suffer with uncertainty.
3. Comparison. A flawed method of comprehension. There is always a bigger fish, which means you will never be satisfied. Realise that everything has unique aspects to be savoured. Also, things are of different value in different scenarios e.g. a car in a city versus in the country side.
4. Cognitive biased. Cognitive bias is the phenomenon characterised by the pursuit of information that supports our current beliefs or what we want to believe. We fail to learn the truth and suffer the consequences.
5. Clingy. In order to survive and pass on their genes, our ancestors sought protection and love from others. The instinct still prevails in modern humans and failure leads to unnecessary suffering.
6. Contrary. We rebel against authority, even when it is not in our best interest. We protect our ego by taking a definite stance against the opponent. We often fight for something we don’t truly believe in or value.
